Artist DetailsSebastian FleiterAfter qualifying as a set-designer in Cologne and London, Fleiter studied Free Art and Visual Communication at the Kassel Academy of Art where he now teaches New Media. Fleiter’s works encompass a wide range of new media such as large-scale video, audio and light installations, as well as performance. He always sets out from a thematic starting point or a trigger bound to the particular location which he then develops into a personal artistic statement. Fleiter compares his method with that of an alchemist: he picks up central or even inconspicuous aspects of a given location processing them into a new context of interpretation and meaning. |
